When Elliot Williams decided to leave the University of Memphis after his sophomore season and join a crowded NBA Draft, there was no guarantee he would end up a first-round pick. But the gamble paid off for Williams, who was selected No. 22 overall Thursday night by the Portland Trail Blazers.
